Our Story
One Building.
One Standard.
North Stones was founded by two brothers — David and Sizhen — who grew up between two worlds: Amsterdam and Chengdu. Between them, they carry a deep understanding of what it means to build a life somewhere new: the excitement of a fresh start, and the very real frustrations of finding a home that meets your standards in an unfamiliar market.
That shared experience became the foundation of North Stones. They saw a gap in the Dutch rental market — too many properties that were outdated, poorly maintained, or simply not up to the standard that international professionals deserved. So they set out to change that.
Starting with a single building in Rotterdam, they renovated it from the ground up — not to flip it, but to hold it, rent it, and be proud of it. That principle now shapes everything. Today, North Stones curates apartments from trusted landlords across the Netherlands — properties we visit in person, assess ourselves, and only list when they genuinely meet our standard. Whether we own it or not, every home we offer is one we'd be comfortable putting our name on.
